My name is Carol Dorgelo and I am a retired social worker who lives in Tasmania. I live in a very small rural seaside community that is 100 km from Hobart. I have two adult children and two grandchildren (Lucy aged 2 and Felix aged 4 weeks). Becoming a grandparent has been such an unexpected delight.
My diagnosis of a neuroendocrine tumour originating in the small bowel was established in May 2016. The tumours have spread throughout my abdominal area and I have several in my bones.
The things that give me joy are gardening and my grandchildren. Both are a welcome distraction from everything else that is going on.
I look forward to working with CAG to provide improved support and information for people with a NET.
