In this week's Woman's Day newreader Ron Wilson talks about his wife's four year battle with NET Cancer.
"It was by chance that Helen, a former video editor, first discovered the tumor. Suffering from stinging pain in her left side she visited the doctor, but she had to go back several times before she was sent for an endoscopy and colonoscopy. Finally a radiologist spotted a shadow". This is a familiar story and Ron goes on to talk about how difficult it is to diagnose NETs and the need for reliable testing.
After many operations that have caused great weight loss and long stints in intensive care, Helen's disease is more advanced, however, is stabilised. Both Ron and Helen are now looking forward to the impending birth of their grandchild and in Ron's words "Where there is hope, there is life". We thank Ron and Helen and their family for the incredible gift of awareness of NET Cancers and wish them the best of luck as grandparents. For more on this story please click here .
