Adelaide NET Patient Forum 2023

Overview

This NET Patient Forum had a wonderful turnout with over 40 attendees which included patients, family, carers, and health professionals. The program had a wealth and diversity of expert presenters including:

Mr Chady Barkil, Director of MITRU (Molecular Imaging and Therapy research Unit) at SAHMRI who spoke about Translational Research and the work being done at MITRU.
Prof Tim Price, Medical Oncologist and Clinical Director, gave an overview of The Bragg Comprehensive Cancer Centre and the advantaged of Comprehensive Cancer services.
Dr Tabitha Healey, who is a Medical Oncologist who now in works in Life Coaching. She provided insight and information on grief, change and dealing with life’s challenges – giving positive inputs to our lives.
Dr Marni Nenke, Endocrinologist and Nuclear Medicine Therapy Fellow at QEH. Her presentation provided information about familial NETs, genetic testing and surveillance.
A/ Prof Gabby Cehic AM gave an overview of “what’s on the horizon” for NETs.
Jessica Mercurio, NET Specialist Nurse then facilitated a Q&A session which enabled the audience to ask questions of the guest speaker panel which provided a fabulous opportunity to interact and learn
