Understanding Neuroendocrine Cancer
Neuroendocrine cancers are a complex group of cancers that are often misunderstood.
They’re most commonly found in the gastrointestinal tract (bowels, abdominal area), pancreas, and lungs. They can also occur in the reproductive organs, prostate, breast and skin and can affect people of any age.
Neuroendocrine cancer symptoms are often vague and may include weight loss, flushing, diarrhoea, abdominal pain or shortness of breath. Because these symptoms can resemble other conditions such as; menopause, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or asthma, diagnosis can sometimes be delayed.
This section provides clear, reliable information to help you understand what neuroendocrine cancers are, how they’re diagnosed and the treatment options available.
