Celebrating Shane Kent’s Arch2Arc Journey and Fundraising

NECA CEO Meredith Cummins attended Shane Kent’s post Arch2Arc event on Friday 19 September 2025 in Brisbane. It was such a great night where Shane’s family, friends and local community came together to hear the recap of the event.

Meredith spoke about NECA and also neuroendocrine cancer, the lack of awareness in the community – not only the general public but also healthcare professionals.

Then the interview with Shane and his crew – the good, the bad and the endurance and tenacity of Shane. Shane did this event in memory of his mum, Maria, a woman who was so vivacious and had a zest for life – a video was played of Maria demonstrating this and everyone in the room was so entertained.

Shane has raised over $15K for NECA and we are eternally grateful for this! An important quote on the evening was that fundraising is so important however it is raising awareness of Neuroendocrine Cancer that is at the forefront to see better outcomes for all.
