Sydney NET Patient Forum Brings Together Patients and Clinicians

NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia’s Sydney NET Patient Forum was held at Royal North Shore Hospital on 28 October 2025, offering patients, families, and clinicians the chance to connect, learn, and share insights about the latest developments in neuroendocrine cancer care.

The evening began with light refreshments, followed by a welcome and opening remarks from the event chairs Prof Nick Pavlakis and Dr David Chan. Attendees then heard from an impressive line-up of expert speakers, including:

  • Claire Kent, Cancer Nurse Coordinator – AUSNET Clinical Trial
  • Mr Kai Brown, HPB General Surgeon, RNSH – Debulking Surgery in NETs and Management of Pancreatic NETs
  • Dr Richard Maher, Interventional Radiologist, RNSH (TBC) – Radiology Update
  • Meredith Cummins, NECA CEO – NECA Update

The evening concluded with a lively Q&A session, allowing patients to engage directly with the experts and share their experiences. Professor Rory Clifton-Bligh joined the Q&A panel and provided input on Endocrinology which a vital member of the Multidisciplinary Team in the management of NETs
