The 2025 CommNETs Annual Meeting was held in Vancouver on 5–6 December, bringing together neuroendocrine cancer specialists from across Commonwealth countries. CommNETs (Commonwealth Neuroendocrine Tumour Collaboration) is a global partnership of researchers, clinicians, and patient organisations working together to improve NET care, accelerate research, and ensure patients benefit from the latest advances no matter where they live. This annual meeting provides an important opportunity for members to share knowledge, compare outcomes, and align international priorities for NET patients.
Australia was exceptionally well represented, with several of the country’s leading NET experts attending. Among the delegates were Professor Dale Bailey, Assoc Professor Gabby Cehic, Professor Lorraine Chantrill, Dr David Chan, Assoc Professor David Wyld, Dr Mark Nalder, Dr Jennifer Lim, NECA CEO Meredith Cummins, and clinical fellow Dr Claire Mok. Their contributions spanned imaging, PRRT, multidisciplinary care, nursing, and innovations in patient support — reinforcing Australia’s reputation as a key leader within the CommNETs network.
Across two days of presentations and workshops, attendees shared emerging evidence, explored cross-border research opportunities, and identified shared priorities for improving the lives of people diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer. The collaborative energy of the meeting reinforced the importance of global partnerships and highlighted how Australia remains at the forefront of advancing NET innovation, advocacy, and care.
