NECA attends launch of Nuclear Medicines Australia National Action Plan at Parliament House

NECA attended the launch of Nuclear Medicines Australia National Action Plan “Shaping the Future for Nuclear Medicine in Australia” at Parliament House in Canberra on Wednesday 11 March 2026.

Senator Wendy Askew, co-Chair of Parliamentary Friends of Cancer Care and Cure opened the event with Hon Anne Ruston Shadow Minster for Health also present. Those attending the event were MPs, Senior Advisors, Department of Health, Medicines Australia, ANSTO, Clinicians, patient representatives and more.

The Plan addresses  and delivers recommendations for Reimbursement Reform, Regulatory Frameworks, Supply Chain and Sovereign Capabilities, Workforce Development, Investment and Innovation.

NECA will actively work as a member organisation of Nuclear Medicine Australia to ensure our patients in Australia can access optimal care, which does not cause financial burden and improves outcomes.
