The Australian Cancer Plan has officially been launched! Yesterday, Cancer Australia CEO, Professor Dorothy Keefe, unveiled the groundbreaking Australian Cancer Plan at the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia’s (COSA) conference. What is the Australian Cancer Plan?This comprehensive initiative is designed to provide a national approach to cancer control, focusing on improving prevention, screening, treatment, and management of all cancers for every Australian, regardless of their background or location. Aiming for EquityOne of the key objectives of this plan is achieving equity in cancer outcomes. The success of this 10-year landmark initiative will be measured by improving outcomes for groups with the poorest cancer experiences, with a special focus on First Nations people. Covering Every Step of the JourneyThe Australian Cancer Plan covers every aspect of cancer care, from prevention and early detection, to recovery, living with a chronic disease, and end-of-life care. You can read the plan here.
