Inspiring Collaboration at the 14th Annual INCA Summit
NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia (NECA) was proud to take part in the 14th Annual INCA Summit, held in Sofia, Bulgaria, bringing together representatives from neuroendocrine cancer patient organisations from around the world for two days of presentations, discussion and connection. Attendance at the Summit included Prof Nicola Fazio (President – European Neuroendocrine Tumour Society) and Dr Arvind Dasari (President Elect – North American Neuroendocrine Tumour Society)
Our CEO, Meredith Cummins — who was also recently appointed President of INCA — attended and co-facilitated the Summit. During the presentations at the Summit NECA was showcased and highlighted our work in Research.
What is INCA?
The International Neuroendocrine Cancer Alliance (INCA) is the global voice for patients living with neuroendocrine cancer and genetic neuroendocrine tumour (GenNET) syndromes. INCA is an umbrella organisation bringing together 37 member organisations in 29 countries focusing on patient advocacy, awareness, access and research from around the world, working collaboratively to:
- Raise awareness of all types of neuroendocrine tumours (NETs)
- Push for scientific advancements focused on the most pressing unmet needs
- Provide a global platform for collaboration between patients, advocacy groups and the medical community
- Support timely diagnosis, optimal treatment and access to care for NET patients everywhere
Each year, INCA brings its member organisations together at its Annual Summit, a gathering that has become a true highlight of the NET advocacy calendar, fostering collaboration, shared learning and a strong sense of global community.
Summits like this one are a vital part of the global effort to improve outcomes for people living with neuroendocrine cancer, sharing knowledge, strengthening relationships between member organisations, and keeping patients at the centre of the conversation. NECA is proud to be part of the INCA family and looks forward to building on the momentum from Sofia in the year ahead.
