5HIAA Urine Collection Instructions for Patients

5HIAA Urine Instruction Sheet for Patients

Your doctor may order you to do a 5HIAA 24 hour urine test. Please click below to see the downloadable instruction sheet. Previously there were different instructions for preparation and during the collection of the urine by various pathology companies – the instructions provided have been developed to have harmonisation of instructions across Australia.

The 5-HIAA harmonisation group (Shohini Mukerji, Cherie Chiang, Gerald Woollard, Kay Weng Choy, Lucy Ding), as part of the joint initiative from ESA/AACB/RCPA in

Harmonisation of Endocrine Dynamic Testing – Adult (HEDTA), has produced this evidence-based urine 5-HIAA urine collection guide for patients as a freely available resource.
