NECA is thrilled to be at the heart of the 25th AGITG Annual Scientific Meeting hosted for the first time in New Zealand. There were over 350 attendees from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and USA.
This year’s theme is “Navigating Paths to Equity in GI Cancer Research” which focuses on extending access and increasing equity in therapeutic options, especially in regional, rural, and remote areas, as well as among culturally diverse and First Nations populations.
Day one focused on dedicated workshops which included exploring future trials and also the development of Nutrition Education Modules for HCPs (predominantly Dietitians), validation of the Nutrition Screening Tool and a Nutrition Guidance Document.
The following days were continuing the theme with insightful collaboration of international and local experts, symposia, trial presentations.
This year for the first time there was the opportunity to do a presentation by our CEO Meredith Cummins and the CEO from Neuroendocrine Cancer NZ titled United Across the Ditch to Improve Patient Outcomes and Care.
We’re excited to come together to continue to shape the future of GI cancer research and pave the way for increased equity in treatment options.
