NET Patient Rob Hammond speaks at the Senate Inquiry hearing in Tasmania

  • February 20, 2024

NET Patient and passionate advocate and fundraiser Rob Hammond shared his story and the plight of NET Patients Australia wide at the Senate Inquiry into “Equitable access to diagnosis and treatment for individuals with rare and less common cancers, including neuroendocrine cancer” in Hobart on February 20.

Rob spoke about the challenges around accessing optimal care and the inequities that NET patients face living in Tasmania, including referral pathways, HCP education and low awareness of the disease amongst the general public and healthcare professional community. He touched on the challenges he has faced during this advocacy work and thanked Senator Wendy Askew for the opportunity to speak and feel heard. Thank you Rob for sharing not only your own story, but one that will resonate with so many Tasmanian and NET patients and indeed patients Australia wide.

Listen to Robs full speech here.
