ENETS 2022

  • The conference this year was held as a hybrid meeting – virtual and in person in Barcelona. We are hoping to be able to go next year as this is such a wonderful conference where networking is so beneficial. Highlights of the program were  –
  • Opening session on whether or not we are ready for precision medicine in NEN in 2022
  • Molecular pathology and precision medicine
  • New developments in nuclear medicine
  • Defining success and individualising therapy in NEN
  • Joint session: European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) / ENETS
  • Systemic treatment of advanced NETs – Have we made any progress?
  • New developments in the management of high-grade NEC
  • Pheochromocytoma, paraganglioma and medullary thyroid carcinoma

We submitted an abstract which was accepted for poster presentation – “Optimal Planning for treatment and research of Neuroendocrine Tumours (NETs) in Australia: PLANET registry and patient reported outcomes app”

We had great representation at ENETs by our Australian NET Specialists –

  • A/Prof Grace Kong presented “Integration of functional imaging and molecular pathology for optimal treatment selection in NEN”
  • Prof Rod Hicks “Mechanisms of resistance to PRRT and overcoming these”
  • Prof Tim Price (abstract)  – Phase 1 study of intralesional (IL) rose bengal (PV-10) an investigational autolytic immunotherapy
