On 17 September, NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia, NeuroEndocrine UK, and NeuroEndocrine New Zealand came together to deliver the Will Norman Nurse Webinar on Neuroendocrine Cancer. Hosted by Meredith Cummins, CEO of NECA, the event brought together 47 nurses from all over the world, from United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Belgium and Portugal, for an engaging and impactful session.
The program featured moving patient stories from Siobhan (New Zealand), Jacqueline (Australia), and Lisa (UK), who shared their lived experiences and highlighted key take-home messages for health professionals. Presentations were also delivered by organisation representatives Avril Hull (NeuroEndocrine Cancer New Zealand), Kahlia Wolsley (NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia), and Nikie Jervis (NeuroEndocrine Cancer UK), covering an overview of neuroendocrine cancer, including risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis, grading, staging, and a brief overview of treatment options.
Looking ahead, the next Will Norman Nurse Webinar will take place in March 2026 and will focus on carcinoid syndrome, carcinoid crisis, and carcinoid heart disease. This session will also provide a more detailed exploration of treatment pathways, building on the foundation established in this first webinar.
