NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia is proud to welcome Cassie Miller from Queensland as our very first official Patient Ambassador.
Cassie was 36 when she was diagnosed with grade 2 metastatic neuroendocrine cancer after experiencing sudden and severe abdominal pain. The diagnosis came as a complete shock and marked the beginning of a life-changing journey that included 25 rounds of targeted radiation, four rounds of Lutate treatment, a long recovery and significant personal decisions, all while raising her three young children.
Cassie’s outlook is nothing short of inspirational. She has chosen to embrace the fear she felt due to her diagnosis and use it to spark bold life changes. Rather than shy away from fear, she has leaned into it with strength and clarity, making powerful choices that reflect her deep values and commitment to growth.
Her journey is now dedicated to helping others do the same. She encourages people to face uncertainty with courage, to live with intention, and to find support through the emotional challenges that life can bring.
Throughout her experience, Cassie has shown remarkable strength and positivity. She has become a passionate advocate for greater awareness, earlier diagnosis and better support for those affected by neuroendocrine cancer. Her willingness to share her story and connect with others makes her an ideal representative for the patient community.
As our first Patient Ambassador, Cassie brings warmth, authenticity and a strong voice to our shared mission. She will help raise awareness, advocate for earlier diagnosis and amplify the experiences of patients across the country.
