NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia invites people affected by NETs, families friends, and interested health professionals to our free webinar, featuring specialist NET Dietitian, Erin Laing. Erin has recently completed her PHD into the nutritional needs of people affected by NETs.

The Nutrition in NETs study is a comprehensive exploration of the nutritional complications experienced by people diagnosed with a NET.

This webinar will cover:

  • The presence of complications including malnutrition, weight change, vitamin deficiencies, and dietary change and their impact on patient quality of life.
  • Results of an international survey of NET health professionals exploring their practices in regards to nutrition management in NET patients.
  • Recommendations for education and screening to improve nutrition care in NETs.

Erin Laing

Erin is a senior dietitian at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She works closely with the multidisciplinary team in the upper gastrointestinal and neuroendocrine units at Peter Mac with a particular interest in the nutritional management and supportive care of gastrointestinal cancers including neuroendocrine tumours, as well as nutritional issues and quality of life throughout cancer treatment. Erin is regularly involved in allied health research and recently completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne. This research involved coordinating a multi-site research project at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Austin Health, exploring the nutrition related symptoms, complications and quality of life in patients with gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumours (Nutrition in NETs).
