The Unicorn Foundation is proud and excited to announce that we have three abstracts and a oral presentation accepted for the annual Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) Scientific meeting to be held in Hobart in November 2015.
The abstracts and presentation are focussed on the Oceania data from the INCA/Novartis global NET patient survey combined with local data. The theme of the conference is “Rare Cancers” and it is impressive that the Unicorn Foundation has the opportunity to have such a presence at this event. Dr John Leyden has been involved in all facets of the global survey and with local NET experts – A/Prof Nick Pavlakis, A/Prof Time Price, Prof Stephen Clarke, A/Prof Michael Michael, Dr Mustafa Khasraw will be able to present the data about the experiences of having a neuroendocrine cancer. We hope that through these abstracts and presentation we can highlight many of the issues and problems that our Australian NET patients face on a daily basis and motivate others in the Australian oncology community to help us make positive changes to improve the outcomes for all our patients.
The Unicorn Foundation will also present on the NET patient perspective within the NET session on Tuesday November 17, "Caught in the NETs".
