South Australia Cancer Nursing Society of Australia Groups Education Dinner

– It was with immense pleasure that NECA was invited to present at the South Australia Cancer Nursing Society of Australia Groups Education dinner on Thursday 17 August 2023 in Adelaide.

There were over 30 attendees in person and another 10 were able to participate via live stream in Mt Gambier. The evening commenced with the viewing of “Jamie’s Story” then our CEO presented an overview of who we are, what we do which highlighted the work within our pillars  – Support, Advocacy, Research, Education and our National Awareness Campaign.

The evening’s sponsors Ipsen & Viatris gave an update on their products. A/ Prof Gabby Cehic then spoke about Theranostics – management of NETs and changes over the years which demonstrated her passion and dedication to improving services and care for SA NET patients.

Following on Jess Mercurio gave a comprehensive presentation about nursing a patient with NETs and PRRT workflow. Caley Schnaid was next on the program and spoke virtually about Nutrition and NETs.

It was also wonderful to have Matt & Chad from the Project Team from Flinders University AUSNET study in the audience.

The final part of the evening was a Q&A session which was very interactive and some wonderful questions asked.

Thank you SA CNSA Group for inviting NECA and giving us the opportunity to spread the word about NETs and increase knowledge and awareness. .
