Sasha, VIC
- Adrenocortical carcinoma
August 18th, 2008 is a day I will never forget. A day that will forever be burned into my mind. The day I first heard the words, “Sasha, it’s cancer.”
Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) often known simply as adrenal cancer, this Neuroendocrine Cancer affects one to two people per million per year, which means it is very rare. ACC occurs in the outer part (cortex) of the adrenal gland. In adults, it most commonly occurs in middle age.
The disease may be less aggressive in children, who have different treatment from adults.
