Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia started the ball rolling with events early in the month.
The March4NETs campaign officially kicked off on March 1, with passionate supporters coming together across the country to raise awareness for neuroendocrine cancer. Many thanks to AGIG for their continued support. It is only with the support of AGIG that these events have been so successfully added this year.
In Melbourne, our NETs community gathered at Caulfield Park under perfect weather conditions. Around 20 dedicated NETs supporters took part in the event, marching in solidarity before enjoying a BBQ and meaningful connections. A special thank you to Brad McKenzie for organising the event and to everyone who participated. You can read the media coverage received for the Melbourne Event here. Thank you to NET patient and CAG member Sharon Rickard for generating this media attention.
Tasmania also joined in the launch of March4NETs, showing their support and commitment to raising awareness. Meanwhile, in Western Australia, the Bunbury support group came together to mark the start of this important campaign with Channel 7 and Bunbury news also showing up to report the importance of March4NETs and symptom awareness amongst the community. Read about the Bunbury News coverage here.
Sydney and Adelaide both celebrated March4NETs on Sunday March 23rd with a spectacular turn out. The Autumn weather was shining for the Adelaide crew who enjoyed a leisurely walk and fundraised with raffles on the day.
Sydney crew completed the Bay Run/walk (over 7 kilometres) in very wet weather. Home baked brownies were a great reward for completing this walk! Many thanks to NET Patient Andrew who completed a 6 hour round trip to join us on the day.
March4NETs is an annual movement that unites patients, families, and supporters in a collective effort to shine a light on neuroendocrine cancer. With the campaign now in full swing, we encourage everyone to get involved, host their own events, and continue the conversation.
Thank you to all who participated in these fantastic events—your support makes a difference!
