NECA Strategy Day 2025

  • May 27, 2025

On Wednesday 21 May, NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia (NECA) hosted our annual Strategy Day in Sydney.

It’s the one day each year when our entire team comes together face to face, with 18 people attending in person and 5 people joining remotely from across Australia – it was great to have most of our rapidly growing team in attendance.

Presentations from our CEO, Project Officer/Nurse Educator, Media and External Relations, Fundraising & Marketing, Specialist NET nurse and Digital Projects staff captured the year in review and outlined the focus for the year ahead.

NECA has had a record-breaking year across every area. We’ve seen an unprecedented number of patient enquiries, thoughtfully addressed by our largest and most diverse telehealth team to date. This year, website engagement reached levels above those previously seen, including during our high-impact Government campaign. However, there is still much to be done.

Our key takeaways from the day were to continue focusing on the Government’s response to the 2024 Senate Inquiry, to reach out to more healthcare professionals to enable earlier diagnosis, and to develop practical ideas to reach even more patients early in their diagnostic journey.

We thank our Consumer Advisory Group, Board Members and staff for collaborating so passionately to shape NECA’s strategy for the year ahead. The sense of joint purpose, collaboration and comradery was felt by everyone and truly radiated throughout the day.
