As the Unicorn Foundation celebrates its 10th year as a foundation, we send our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us over the last 10 years by donating their hard-earned money or holding a fundraiser. We are so grateful for your support, which has helped us get to where we are today, working hard to support Australian based NET cancer research and NET cancer patients.
We understand that there are so many good causes out there, each of them doing important work. However, as the only not for profit medical charity in Australia directed towards NET cancer, our work continues to need financial support. As end of financial year approaches, please consider a donation to Unicorn Foundation to help support patients and families dealing with NET cancer (all donations over $2 are tax deductible).
Here are some of the ways your money has helped Unicorn Foundation so far:
We assisted in providing close to $600,000 for the vital CONTROL NETs clinical trial
We fund our NET Nurse to maintain our patient support services
We organise over 80 support groups and host 3 patient education forums each year
We provide up to date resources for patients and healthcare professionals
We attend national and international medical conferences to keep up to date with latest research
We launched an Australia wide Neuroendocrine Tumor registry (PLANET) and patient app
We are also very fortunate to have a wonderful network of volunteers who support our organisation by assisting on our Board, Consumer Advisory Group (CAG), as Patient Support Facilitators (PSF) and other key roles. This means that our organisation runs at very low overhead costs with close to 90% of the funds raised by donations to Unicorn Foundation going directly to where they are needed the most, our patients.
We are extremely humbled by our donors who help us to support NET Cancer patients and their families. We will continue to work hard in our efforts to reach our goal, finding a cure for NET cancer.
