Thank you to everyone who attended this year's Sydney Cocktail Party on June 1. The night was an enormous success with over $20,000 raised towards our Control NETs fund.
Our MC Guy Noble did a great job getting the attention of the lively crowd as we heard an update on the Unicorn Foundation's activities, information regarding the Clinical Trial for Lutate and most importantly the perspective of the patient. Thank you to Susan for speaking from the heart and helping everyone present gain a better insight into living with NETs.
Our auctioneer, Brett Telfer, did a fantastic job with our live auction which was a huge hit raising $7,400 with prizes including:
- an 18ct white gold mint quartz cocktail ring kindly donated by our ever generous supporter Mik Karakai of Marquise Designs.
- a week's accommodation at Hawks Nest in NSW kindly donated by Andrew Badgery.
- a weekend away at the Retreat at Robertson, kindly donated by Kim and Tim Delaney.
- a beautiful painting inspired by the Tuscan landscape, kindly donated by Maria Ponte.
- a signed Sydney Swans jumper from the 2005 premier year, kindly donated by Barbara and Chris Graham.
Bidding was fierce and competitive! Thank you to everyone for getting into the spirit of it. Thank you also to Kim Delaney for donating a second weekend to the under bidder bumping up the total!
We had a fantastic raffle and thank everyone who donated to the more than 20 prizes on offer. Attached a list of all the fantastic sponsors and prizes.
Charlotte Rhiane performed an extraordinary rendition of the "The Prayer" in tribute to her father and to the other patients in the audience. It was truly spectacular. Thank you Charlotte and to our fabulous band Neon Connective who kept everyone on their feet all night.
Thank you to our ever loyal Fowles Wines who once again provided us with their delicious and award winning wines, they were very much appreciated and enjoyed by everyone! The paper flowers and butterflies provided by nanahuchy were so popular that most guests took one home as a memento of the night home with them. We would also like to thank our business sponsor Solutions2Retirement and Andrew Badgery for his extraordinary contribution to the night.
Lastly but most importantly thank you to all our volunteers who assisted leading up to the evening, during the set up and into the night. Without your help the event would not have been possible.
